It may be hot and confused..but it's free!

Following on from the recent post on Tabasco’s curious Jubilee themed Union Jack pack (remember the Empire!), it’s back and this time it’s being sampled.

Another good example of a commuter sampling campaign not expected simply to stand alone solely through the disruption it causes to a travellers journey (in both good and bad ways) and that something is being given away for free – it’s also advertised so that weary commuters can actually look out for it and seek it out should it not be immediately obvious to them on the concourse.

The ad itself is not ground-breaking – a MASSIVE pack shot (always a winner with the brand team) and some copy telling you to splash Tabasco all over your breakfast, lunch and dinner. ‘Bring out the flavour!’ it says.

I’d suggest that if you follow this advice, every meal you have will taste of Tabasco. Perhaps that’s the plan? Of course it is. I’ll stick the strong Bloody Mary’s for now. Barman!

Win nearly £50 with Skittles

Watching TV last night I was intrigued by an ad for a new Skittles promotion to win nearly £50.  Why ‘nearly’ I thought?  It bugged me so much I finally cracked open my iPad and searched for the promo.  It was pretty hard to find, hidden away at the bottom of Skittles’ Facebook page but the promotion is pretty straightforward – find a pack containing 1 of 1,000 Golden Skittles - which were sweated out (ew!) by Skittles Skittathlete Grant Briton (who lives under water…) - and win nearly £50.  Why ‘nearly’?  ‘Well, stamps and envelopes don’t pay for themselves, do they?’.   Although the promotion was quite hard to find online I thought the ‘nearly’ aspect made this  a more memorable promotion than just a straightforward Win £50.

Domigoals

Dominos have created a mobile app for consumers during the Euros to further drive the blokey link between football and pizza. The Domigoals app allows users to check football scores in real time and get updates on fixtures.

But what’s better is that every time a goal is scored, the first 1,000 users who tap the "woohoo" button on the app, will be entered into a competition to win Domino's vouchers. The more goals that are scored, the greater the value of the voucher and fans with the fastest fingers will win money-off pizza, driving back to the brand and pizza.
